Hoffman Fine Arts Studio
Original Paintings and Hand Thrown Pottery
As a child, Dot loved to draw and would spend  hours in her own little
art world. Then as she grew to adulthood, she did what most young
women of her generation did:  got married and had babies. Here and
there along the way she dabbled a little bit in art, but devoted most of
her energy to raising a family and then went to work after they were
old enough to be in school all day. Eventually she went to college
while working full time, and worked her way up the corporate ladder.

With retirement looming, she was mulling over what she had enjoyed
most in the past, the one thing that kept coming up was "art." She
started taking lessons, and has studied with a number of teachers,
including Richard McKinley, Desmond O'Hagan and Duane Wakeham.

Her main focus is on landscapes, skyscapes, still lifes, and abstracts.
She continues to take art and drawing classes because she feels she
will never "know it all".

She belongs to several local art associations and has served on the
board of directors of a local art guild. She has exhibited locally and
entered a number of shows where she has been honored as an award
winner several times. Her work hangs in private collections across the
U.S. and internationally.

Ken retired in 2006 after almost 45 years in sales with the same
company. He grew up in a small town outside of St. Louis, and after
high school he joined the Navy, where he spent most of his military
career in the Mohave Desert. He has traveled extensively, and has
always pursued his interest in the arts, visiting many of the major
museums and taking classes when he was able to fit it into his hectic
schedule.

He now takes classes in drawing and in advanced pottery making, and
has a growing collection of hand thrown pots and dinnerware as well
as vases and other household items. His pottery is in numerous
private collections, and he is currently working on several commissions.
